The football club FC Revera 1908 has officially launched its international series of events, FC Revera 1908 on Tour. The first location of the tour is the Polish city of Częstochowa—a deeply personal place for the Director of Strategic Sports Development, Marcin Gabor, who grew up here. For the next few days, the team will be based at the facilities of Raków Częstochowa, one of the leading clubs in the Polish Ekstraklasa.
Marcin Gabor shared insights into the work progress, the organization of the athletes’ daily routine, and the importance of international experience for the players:
“Driving into the city yesterday was a special moment for me. I haven’t been to Częstochowa in a long time, and I grew up just three or four kilometers from this stadium, so it is a very sentimental return. I am delighted that Raków Częstochowa—a club that has made incredible progress over the last seven or eight years—has invited us for two days of training and a friendly match. We received a very warm welcome, seeing many new and familiar faces.
This is our first station, and we have already begun the hard work at the grounds of one of the largest and best clubs in Poland. The first hours here show that we are moving in the right direction; the feedback from Raków regarding our professional work has been exceptionally positive.
Professionalism is built on details. A few weeks before our arrival, I personally negotiated the menu at the Ibis Hotel. This isn’t a standard hotel guest menu, but one specifically designed for athletes to balance energy expenditure, including light meals that help players recover glycogen, carbohydrates, and protein.
Beyond the football pitch, we focus on broadening horizons. Yesterday, I showed the team Jasna Góra, a local historical monastery of great value not only to Poland but to all of Europe in terms of religious and historical significance. My work at FC Revera is about more than just football; while the sport is key, we are also about building relationships, creating emotions, and educating players on many levels.
As for our plans, we have already completed our first training session—two and a half hours of intensive tactical work to refine our game model. Tomorrow we have another session, and on Tuesday, we play a friendly match. I have also received an official lunch invitation from the Raków Academy Director and board members. It is vital for us to continue building these relationships with elite European clubs.”
