From the first matches to legendary status
1908 - in the then Stanislaviv (now Ivano-Frankivsk) a group of enthusiasts founded the city's first football club, named Revera. It comes from the Latin expression "re vera", which means "true", "what is real". According to legend, these words were often repeated by the nobleman Stanislav Pototsky, known as Revera, whose name is closely connected with the history of the city.
Revera" became Stanislaviv's first football team and one of the first in all of Galicia, which was then part of Austria-Hungary. Unlike many other clubs of that time, "Revera" was not tied to a specific ethnic group representatives of various nationalities performed in its composition.
June 20, 1909 - the first official match of "Revera" in Lviv against a local club "Charni".
July 4, 1909 - a historical event! At the central stadium
Stanislaviv (today - Rukh stadium) the first official match in the city took place. The opponent was the Lviv reserve team
"Charni".
AFTER THAT, FOOTBALL BEGAN IN STANISLAVIV GAIN MOMENTUM, APPEARED NEW TEAMS AND "REVERA" BECAME THE MAIN MOVEMENT OF THE CITY'S FOOTBALL CULTURE.
After the First World War, the club resumes its activities and joins the Polish Football Union.
1931 - Revera beats Lviv district league and becomes the champion of the region. A four-time champion of the Stanislaviv District League, the team dominates local football and gains legendary status.
"REVERA" BECAME STANISLAVIV'S MOST WINNING CLUB AND PERFORMS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF REGIONAL COMPETITIONS.
September 1939 was fatal for Revera. The beginning of the Second World War and the occupation of Soviet power fundamentally changed the situation in Galicia.
Polish structures were disbanded, and most local football clubs ceased to exist.
"REVERA" STOPPED ITS ACTIVITIES, AND ITS PLAYERS LEFT OR WERE FORCED TO TERMINATE THEIR CAREERS. THUS ENDED THE FIRST PAGE OF THE HISTORY OF THE GLORIOUS CLUB WHICH FORMED STANISLAVIV'S FOOTBALL LIFE FOR 31 YEARS.
After an 85-year break, the "Revera 1908" club is being revived!
